Firm Update: July - August 2026 (Steady Ground)
We are grateful for another period of meaningful work with our clients, and for the continued trust that makes it possible.
This period, we welcomed a new lawyer to our team. As the firm's caseload grows, so does our capacity to serve clients with the attention each matter deserves.
Among the matters concluded this period, we handled the defense of two clients in complaints for violations of the securities law and the cybercrime law, both of which were dismissed at the preliminary investigation stage. A construction dispute was settled on terms favorable to our client, and two administrative matters were resolved through settlement, one of them before the case could proceed to the Professional Regulation Commission. In a criminal matter, we filed a petition for habeas corpus on behalf of a client held beyond the period allowed under Article 125 of the Revised Penal Code, following which the client was released. Separately, a hold departure order against another client was lifted.
Our cross-border practice remained active. We advised a foreign client on winding down business operations in the Philippines and repatriating invested assets, coordinated with foreign counsel on settlement and probate proceedings here, and performed contract review and drafting for several foreign clients.
On the ground, we:
Onboarded 15+ new clients
Prosecuted three (3) B.P. 22 cases
Filed a Petition for Dissolution of Absolute Community of Property
Filed a petition for naturalization
Filed a third-party claim and a case for damages
Represented a client in a medical malpractice case
Represented two (2) new clients in reckless imprudence cases
Took on a new data privacy litigation matter
Engaged by a client in proceedings before the Department of Migrant Workers against a foreign employer
Represented a client before the Bureau of Immigration for the lifting of an allowlist order
Drafted and executed an extrajudicial settlement of estate
Moved the majority of cases filed in previous months into the trial phase
Through every matter, large or small, we remain mindful of the confidence our clients place in us. That confidence is what drives us to work with integrity, speed, and care.
We look forward to the months ahead with the same commitment our clients deserve.
